Welcome to Arizona Joe's ATV'ing Guide to Southern Arizona!
After many trips to this beautiful state we decided it was time to move here. We currently live outside of Tucson, AZ nestled within four mountain ranges. To give you an idea of the size of our valley, you could place the State of Rhode Island in the valley and it would be slightly bigger than the Tucson city limits. Pima County AZ for comparison is a little larger than Massachusetts.
To begin, let me emphasize all of our trips are completed on existing paths and trails which crisscross this magnificent state we live in. In reality there is no REASON to cut a new trails unless it is an emergency. Some places can be wicked nasty in regards to terrain and extreme caution and use of Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) is a must. At minimum a helmet! This site will emphasize good trails south of Phoenix
We moved to Arizona in 2003 from Maryland and on Easter 2004 I took my first ride on an ATV. I knew right away it was one of those "got to have" items. Twenty-four days later we were the proud owners two Honda Rancher AT's. In the first year we had traveled over 1200 miles off the beaten path to some of the most scenic places I've ever been. We are not racers, we ride slow most of the time because we like to check out our surroundings. We enjoy the wildlife, the flora, the terrain, the vistas, and the good clean air. It became obvious we needed to make our quads "street legal" so we could get around easier. We got the necessary Arizona State Land permits which is required to ride on any of the 9 million acres the state has. This permit is only $15 for individuals and $20 for family. The proceeds go towards Arizona Schools.
We also have many square miles of BLM land and National Forest Land. As stated previously we will concentrate on everything south of Phoenix, which includes Yuma, Gila Bend, Ajo, Benson, Bowie, Safford, Benson, Bisbee, Sierra Vista, Amado, Patagonia, Sasabee, Three Points, Avra Valley, Casa Grande, Eloy, Florence, Klondyke, and the Tucson area.

I have started this site to promote quality riding, and the care of our natural resources. Pack it in and pack it out! There is way to much litter out there. Ride responsibly, try not to create to much dust along roads and highways, DON'T make new trails! All it takes is a visible groove and others will use it.
Thank you ,
Joe
